Your Questions Answered: What to Expect at Biscuits & Beans Cat Café

Your guide to visiting Biscuits & Beans Cat Café.

Can I just come in for coffee and some nosh?

Absolutely – and you’re going to love our coffee. The café is open to everyone, no reservations required. You’re always welcome to grab a drink, a kindness biscuit, relax for a bit, or be on your way. Cat time is always optional.

Do I need a reservation to visit?

Not for the café, only for the cat lounge. We strongly recommend reserving your lounge visit in advance to secure your preferred day and time, though walk-in bookings are welcome when capacity allows.

Do you have kittens to adopt?

Short answer: no, and that’s intentional. We focus on cats beyond kittenhood, including juveniles 6 months+, prime/adults, mature cats, seniors, and even super seniors – as well as cats who may need a little extra consideration, like tripods or one-eyed wonders.

Kittens are typically adopted quickly almost anywhere. As cats grow older, adoption becomes harder, even though they’re often calmer, more social, and just as affectionate. Our goal is to give those overlooked cats the visibility, patience, and calm environment they deserve.

Do I have to adopt a cat if I visit the cat lounge?

Nope. There’s absolutely no pressure to adopt. Okay… maybe a little, some cats are very persuasive. But whether you fall in love or simply enjoy their company, both are perfectly fine.

Is there a fee to enter the cat lounge?

There is. The $12.50 per-person fee helps cover daily care, cleaning, enrichment, and equipment, and allows us to keep the lounge calm and uncrowded with dedicated cat care staff. It’s about quality care, not pay-to-pet.

Are the cats treated well?

Very. Quite bougie, actually. The lounge is designed around low stress, proper rest, high visibility, and respectful interaction. If a cat wants space, we always honor that – because happy cats make better café (and home) companions.

Are children allowed?

Yes! Kids are welcome, and the cats appreciate good manners. An adult must accompany children. The minimum age to enter the lounge is 5, and we ask that adults supervise no more than two children under age 9 at a time. It helps keep things calm and enjoyable for everyone.

What if I have cat allergies?

The cat lounge is fully glass-enclosed and separately ventilated from the café. You’re welcome to enjoy the café without entering the lounge at all – no sneezes or itchy eyes required. Just perhaps a latte, a killer biscuit, and complimentary viewing of our unique cat-quarium.

Why don’t you accept tips?

We believe great service should be standard, not something you’re asked to pay extra for. Our team is paid dependable, above-scale wages, so you can enjoy your visit without awkward screens or tip guilt. If you’re feeling generous, tip the cats through a donation. They won’t say no.

Where does the money go?

Café purchases support café operations. Lounge fees support daily cat care. Adoption fees go directly to the partner rescue. Donations support rescue efforts through the Just Tails Foundation for Cat Care. Funds are clearly identified and never commingled.

How does adoption work here?

Adoptions are managed thoughtfully with clear criteria and guidance from our team. We highly recommend pre-applying if you think adoption may be in your future. When it’s the right fit, approved adopters can often take their cat home the same day.

Are all your cats adoptable?

Yes,100%. Every cat in the lounge is fully adopt-ready and waiting for the right human. They can be selective, though… so patience helps. You’ll know when you get the nod.

Are donations required?

Never. Donations are always optional and always appreciated. Visiting, enjoying the space, and supporting the café is already wonderful. Adopting, though? Yeah, that’s the ultimate donation.
